So much EXCITEMENT—So little TIME

We’ve been so busy here at Heroes 1st! We’re settled in our new digs, and started servicing clients, primarily with various referrals.

Heroes 1st has been seen around Long Beach at events for First Friday, spreading word that “we’re here to help”. The contacts we made from this three-hour event was amazing, not to mention the wonderful people we met with like vision.

Our two social workers had a booth at the Long Beach Homeless Services and Resource Fair at the personal invitation of Councilmember Al Austin II. In the same week they met with the Executive Director of City HeART, a large community-based organization specializing in veteran’s services and resources.

We’re amazed and humbled by the number of veterans that are at a loss when it comes to navigating the massive VA bureaucracy. There is so much work to be done and we’re so thankful Heroes 1st has been chosen to fill at least some of the void.

While we thought our focus would be the South Bay area of Los Angeles County, we have serviced clients in North Carolina, Virginia and Texas. Parry Abraham, our Executive Director< has partnered with the Black Health Equity Collaborative, an organization driven to address the inequities in health care in the black community. Heroes 1st embraces their mission and is looking forward to collaborating with BHEC for the upcoming opportunities in Long Beach.

Events are a major source of funding for Heroes 1st and we’re proud to announce our first major fundraiser! Please join us for a Wine Dinner featuring five high end Italian wines paired with an amazing four course Italian dinner on May 26, 2022. The award wine Angelina’s Pizzaria in Irvine, California is our host location. Our guest presenter is Sommelier Davide Visentin, who will give you all the pairing secrets!

Our online store is OPEN! Heroes 1st gear and event tickets are available at and you can also make a 100% tax deductible donations at
