Heroes 1st Goes to the Country Fair

Heroes 1st was honored to participate in the Long Beach Country Fair on April 1st. Our team interacted with hundreds of patrons, many of whom were happy to know we’re here to help. Clients expressed acute needs from accessing educational benefits to in-home for terminally ill family members. The high energy, fast paced crowd took the time to engage with us all while experiencing the warmth and compassion that is Heroes 1st.

Visitors that sign up on our mailing list received a raffle ticket and five prizes were awarded! Donated items included Long Beach Grand Prix tickets, Men’s fragrances from Bath & Body Works, Paparazzi Zi pieces.

Our social workers have reached out to assist all that signed up requesting additional information or services. We’re so excited to be making an impact within our first thirty days in business. Councilman Al Austin II stopped by and asked if we’d be interested in taking part in the Homeless Services and Resource Fair on April 8 at Long Beach City College. Of course, we responded with a resounding YES!

Our office is fully furnished and functional. We have seen three clients so far and spoken with several others on the telephone. We’re finding the need is great and the resources are few. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far. We’ve added a donor page that we affectionately call Heroes 1st “Gems”.

We have several fundraising activities on the calendar beginning next month with our Taste of Italy Wine Dinner. Stay tuned for more details! Want to spread the word about Heroes 1st? We have branded gear! T-Shirts and caps are available for purchase, with every profit dollar going to provide services.
